OTZI: Introduction to Leather Craftmanship
Overview
Join Otis Ingram, founder of OTZI, leatherworking QEST scholar and author of 'Leatherworks: Traditional Craft for Modern Living' (2017), for an afternoon or evening of leatherwork.
During this 2 hour session, participants will use traditional leatherworking techniques to make their own personalised leather products such as a keyring, key pouch or glasses case.
All participants will be guided through the leathermaking process and leave, depending on their enthusiasm, with at least one unique product that they have made.
This workshop features a practical component; we encourage guests to dress in clothing suitable for creative work.
Events at the Atmosfloric Emporium take place in the Gallery, a dedicated space for ideas and discovery. Please note, the bathroom is located on a lower level and accessible only by stairs, which may limit access for some attendees.
OTZI is proud to make everything by hand in their workshops in Norfolk, UK. By honouring the natural character of every grain and hide, the craftspeople at OTZI make furniture and objects that stand out in their uniqueness, reliability, and depth.
Traditional leather and wood working techniques are used to make timeless, universal pieces; using only full grain natural leathers and characterful native timbers means each piece is unique and develops patina and personality through use.
