Overview

In 2026, Claverton Cloches have collaborated with artist Florence Hamer on the creation of a basket collection. This partnership brings together Claverton and Florence’s shared philosophy of thoughtful craftsmanship for the garden.

After an overview of working with willow and the processes involved in basketry, Florence guides participants through a practical, hands-on workshop creating a woven bird feeder.

Each participant will leave the session with the bird feeder they have created.

This workshop features a practical component; we encourage guests to dress in clothing suitable for creative work.

Events at the Atmosfloric Emporium take place in the Gallery, a dedicated space for ideas and discovery. Please note, the bathroom is located on a lower level and accessible only by stairs, which may limit access for some attendees.

Beth Gregg is founder of Claverton Cloches.

Beth founded Claverton from a lifelong love of gardens and a belief that the objects we use within them should be as beautiful as the plants they help us grow. Claverton’s pieces are inspired by the enduring romance of the English garden: places where time seems to stand still, the seasons set the rhythm and the everyday world briefly falls away. What began with a fascination for Victorian cloches has grown into a collection of enduring pieces designed to bring beauty, purpose and a sense of escape to the garden.

Florence Hamer is a traditional craftswoman and woodworker currently based in Bristol. Her work centres around a passion for endangered crafts, the people and stories behind them and a desire to keep these heritage skills alive. Florence's work is well renowned and in 2023, Florence was awarded 1st place in the contemporary category of the ‘Basketry of the Year’ competition held by the Basketmakers Association.
