Aquila Dunford Wood: Ritual Wax Talisman Workshop

Aquila Dunford Wood: Ritual Wax Talisman Workshop

Date Thursday 10 December 2026
Time 18:00
Length 3 hours
£180.00

Overview

Led by Aquila Dunford Wood, an artist specialising in metal, stone and paint, this practical, hands-on workshop invites participants to create a talisman using the ancient method of lost wax.

Working with a tarot reading and exploring old books, participants will begin by building inspiration for their creation before Aquila guides the process of creating the talisman with wax.

The aim is to make one talisman to be worn on a chain or a thread around the neck, although if participants feel especially inspired, multiple may be created. The waxes will then be taken to be cast in brass or silver, and participants will receive their finished work in the post a few weeks later. Please note, the ticket price includes the casting of one talisman; a small, extra fee will be incurred if multiple are created.

This workshop features a practical component; we encourage guests to dress in clothing suitable for creative work.

Events at the Atmosfloric Emporium take place in the Gallery, a dedicated space for ideas and discovery. Please note, the bathroom is located on a lower level and accessible only by stairs, which may limit access for some attendees.

Each piece is sculpted by hand, and the marks of fingers and touch is her signature.
